What We Built

CodeAgento combines a real terminal (xterm.js + node-pty), a professional code editor (Monaco), voice dictation, 12 AI generators powered by Gemini 2.5 Flash, and 65+ developer tools into a single browser application.

Who is behind CodeAgento?

CodeAgento is built by a small, focused team of developers who were frustrated with switching between too many tools. We set out to build the IDE we always wanted, one that has everything in one place.

Is CodeAgento open source?

Not currently. We offer self-hosting via Docker for teams that need on-premise deployment. We're exploring open-sourcing specific components in the future.

How is CodeAgento different from VS Code or Cursor?

CodeAgento runs entirely in the browser with zero setup. Beyond the editor, it includes 65+ built-in tools (API tester, database explorer, Docker manager, etc.), 12 AI generators, and 7 agentic AI tools, all integrated into one platform.

Can I self-host CodeAgento?

Yes. We provide Docker images and a docker-compose setup for self-hosting with MongoDB, Redis, the Express server, and the Next.js frontend.
