General
What is CodeAgento?
CodeAgento is an AI-powered, browser-based developer IDE that combines 65+ developer tools, 12 AI generators, and agentic AI workflows in a single platform. It includes a full code editor, Git explorer, backend tools, frontend tools, and more.
Do I need to install anything?
No. CodeAgento runs entirely in your browser. Just sign up and start coding. For local development, you can use our Docker setup to run your own instance.
What languages and frameworks does CodeAgento support?
The IDE supports any language through Monaco editor with syntax highlighting. AI generators focus on HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Vue, Svelte, and Tailwind CSS. Backend tools support SQL databases, Docker, Redis, GraphQL, and REST APIs.
Can I use CodeAgento offline?
CodeAgento requires an internet connection for AI features and cloud sync. The code editor and some utility tools can work with limited connectivity, but full functionality requires being online.
Pricing & Billing
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan includes 3 projects, 50 AI generations per day, all frontend and utility tools, and basic Git features. No credit card required.
What does the Pro plan include?
Pro ($19/month) gives you unlimited projects, 500 AI generations per day, all backend tools, advanced Git features, voice dictation, and priority support.
What does the Team plan include?
Team ($49/month per seat) includes everything in Pro plus team management, shared projects, role-based access, audit logs, and dedicated support.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime from your Settings page. Changes take effect at the end of your current billing period. We use Stripe for secure payment processing.

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. Contact support@codeagento.com for refund requests.
AI Features
What AI model powers CodeAgento?
CodeAgento uses Google Gemini 2.5 Flash for AI generation, with structured output via Zod schemas for reliable, typed results. Different tools may use generateText or generateObject depending on the use case.
What are AI generation limits?
Free: 50/day. Pro: 500/day. Team: 500/day per member. Limits reset at midnight UTC. The counter covers all AI generators, prompt playground, and agent builder usage.
Can I build custom AI agents?
Yes. The Agent Builder lets you configure agents with custom system prompts, tools, and model settings. The Flow Designer provides a visual canvas for connecting agents in workflows. You can also scaffold MCP servers.
What is the MCP Server Builder?
It scaffolds Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, the emerging standard for connecting AI models to external tools and data sources. Define tools and resources, and get a complete TypeScript project.
Data & Security
Where is my data stored?
Project data is stored in MongoDB with access controls. Files are stored securely with per-user permissions. We never share your code or data with third parties.
Is my code sent to AI models?
Only when you explicitly use AI features (generators, prompt playground, etc.). Code in your editor is not automatically sent to any AI service.
How is authentication handled?
We use session-based authentication with httpOnly cookies. All database operations run server-side only, so no credentials are ever exposed to the browser.
Can I self-host CodeAgento?
Yes. We provide Docker images and a docker-compose setup for self-hosting with MongoDB, Redis, and the Next.js frontend.
Team & Collaboration
How do I invite team members?
Team leads can invite members by email from the Team Management page. Members receive an invitation and are added to the project's team with the appropriate role.
What roles are available?
There are three roles: Developer (standard access), Team Lead (project + member management), and Admin (full system access including user management and billing).
Can team members work on the same project?
Yes. Team members can access shared projects, use all tools, and collaborate. Each member has their own IDE session with shared project files.
Technical
What is the Command Palette?
Press Cmd+K (or Ctrl+K) to open the Command Palette, a fuzzy-search interface to quickly navigate to any of CodeAgento's 50+ tools and pages.
How do I customize keyboard shortcuts?
Go to Settings and scroll to the Keyboard Shortcuts section. Click any shortcut to record a new key combination. You can reset individual shortcuts or all at once.
What browser do I need?
CodeAgento works best in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari (latest versions). We recommend Chrome or Edge for the best experience with Monaco editor.
